What is the Frequent Reader Club?

It's a long term Library-sponsored activity that provides rewards for students reading Library books. 

   

What are the aims of the Frequent Reader Club?

  • To build a love of books and reading;

  • To encourage children to enjoy library books;

  • To introduce a wide selection of books;

  • To increase the number of books Early Years students read;

  • To support the learn-to-read programs in the school.

   

How does the FRC work?

  1. Collect your Frequent Reader Club card from the Library.

  2. Choose and borrow a book from the Library.

  3. Read the book.

  4. Record the book's title and author in your FRC card.

  5. Return the book.

  6. Hand in your FRC card and acquire a sticker.

  7. Select and borrow another Library book.

  8. When you’ve filled all the spaces on the FRC card, turn it in at the Library.

   

Who can join?

Any Early Years student enrolled at Eatons Hill State School.

   

How many books need to be read?

Ten per card. 

   

When can we change books?

  • Monday to Wednesday and Friday, 8.45-9.00.
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 3.00-3.15.
  • Monday to Friday at most breaks.
  • During regular class borrowing time.
   

What are the benefits for the children?

Each child will

  • read more

  • enjoy a fun activity;

  • receive a certificate recognizing his/her reading achievement on completing a FRC card.
