What is Pizza Pickings?

It's a long term Library-sponsored activity that provides rewards for students reading Library books.

What are the aims of the Pizza Pickings?

  • To encourage children to enjoy library books;

  • To ensure students read a wide selection of books;

How does Pizza Pickings work?

  1. Collect your Pizza Pickings card from the Library.

  2. Draw a Topping Card from the Box with the Dots.

  3. Find and borrow a book from that category.

  4. Read the book.

  5. Record the book's title and author on your Pizza Pickings card.

  6. Bring the book and card to the Library.  Ask the adult to help check you have read the book.

  7. Have your Pizza Pickings card stamped.

  8. Draw another Topping Card from the Box with the Dots.

  9. Find and borrow another Library book to suit the genre or category.

  10. When you’ve filled all the spaces on the Pizza Pickings card, turn it in at the Library.
